The Dex Legacy is a full cast audio drama, written by science fiction author Emily Inkpen and produced by Alt Stories. 1500 years after ancestors from Earth colonised planet SP714, the human population has grown. Countries have divided, risen, fallen and out of the ashes, Dex Island is about to take centre stage. Megalomaniacal weapons manufacturer and President, Nathaniel Dex, works with his colleagues to run his company and steer world politics. The destructive power of the products created by Dex Industries is terrifying, but nothing is more dangerous than his three adopted children, newly unleashed upon the world.

THE AUTHOR
Emily Inkpen (actual name) is a repped novelist, writer/co-director of The Dex Legacy science fiction audio drama, and Creative Director at Alternative Stories. Emily has enjoyed a writing career that has taken her through copywriting for marketing teams in various industries, game writing, and medical writing within scientific teams (specialising in fields including: haemophilia, immunology, oncology, and reproductive health).
With a background in acting, she is passionate about storytelling in all mediums and works with writers of drama in all genres to help bring their stories to life. The rest of the time she runs the Social Media channels for the British Science Fiction Association (BSFA) and inhabits various worlds of her own creation.

THE COMPOSER
Dr. Allen Stroud is a lecturer at Coventry University, having completed a Ph. D. at the University of Winchester covering his work on the computer games, Elite Dangerous (2014) and Chaos Reborn (2016).
Published by Flame Tree Press, Stroud’s sci-fi Fractal Series, starting with Fearless (2020) has been praised as “hard sf”, offering glimpses of a vivid future for humanity as it colonises the solar system.
As a composer for podcasts and audio drama, Stroud has worked extensively with The Radio Theatre Workshop on the audio dramas, Escape Velocity, Chaos Reborn: A Unicorn Murder, Elite: Lave Revolution and Forced Entry.
Stroud continues to write academic papers, reviews, articles and fiction in the genres of sci-fi, fantasy and horror. He lives in a messy house with three cats and his partner, Karen.

The Novels
Book 1 of The Dex Trilogy, The Blood Road, is repped by the John Jarrold Literary Agency and currently being submitted to publishers.
Set 11 years after The Dex Legacy audio drama begins, the books follow the different perspectives of Varian, Isra and Ren. Now aged 26 and 27, the pressures of life take them in different directions, testing the bonds they forged throughout their shared childhood. Playing pivotal roles in global politics, they’re on the front line as wars break and borders change. But they’re well aware, and the world suspects, that of all the weapons Dex Industries has ever developed, they are the most dangerous of all.
